1. Introduction

Welcome to Lanka Rio Tours. These terms and conditions govern your use of our website and the booking of our day tours, multi-day vacation packages, and private driver services operating across the island of Sri Lanka.

By booking a tour with us, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.

2. Our “Honest Pricing” Guarantee

We pride ourselves on transparency. When you book with Lanka Rio Tours, we guarantee:

• No Hidden Fees: The price agreed upon during your booking covers all listed inclusions.
• No Forced Shopping: Our drivers will never detour or force you to visit tourist trap shops or gem factories to earn commissions. Your itinerary is entirely yours.

3. Booking and Payments

To secure your reservation, a deposit or full payment may be required depending on the nature of your tour.

• Day Tours: Full payment is generally required at the time of booking or upon pickup, as arranged with our team.
• Multi-Day Packages: An advance deposit is required to secure hotels, transport, and guide availability. The remaining balance must be settled prior to the start of the tour.

All payments will be processed securely in the agreed currency.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

We understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our travelers and our local operators:

• Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to the tour start date will receive a full refund (minus any non-refundable hotel or third-party booking fees).
• Cancellations made between 7 and 13 days prior to the tour start date will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
• Cancellations made less than 7 days before the tour, or no-shows, are strictly non-refundable.

5. Itinerary Changes

While we strive to follow your requested itinerary perfectly, Lanka Rio Tours reserves the right to modify routes, schedules, or accommodations due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. This includes extreme weather conditions, road closures, national strikes, or wildlife park closures. In such events, we will provide the best possible alternative arrangements.

6. Traveler Responsibilities

It is the sole responsibility of the traveler to ensure they possess all necessary travel documents, including valid passports, Sri Lankan tourist visas (ETA), and comprehensive travel insurance. Lanka Rio Tours is not liable for any disruptions or costs incurred due to missing documentation or lack of insurance.

7. Limitation of Liability

Lanka Rio Tours acts as an agent connecting travelers with local transport, accommodation, and activity providers. While we rigorously vet our partners for safety and quality, we cannot be held legally liable for any personal injury, property damage, loss, or delays caused by third-party vendors or acts of nature (force majeure).
